Even less story told in this book than the last 1, more Eric and Rugrat but did nothing interesting and even their levelling, cultivation and skill advancement has come to a stand still.The 1 thing of importance that happened in this book is they finally started a fight with a enemy that had been bothering them since the first book.There was only the briefest mention of the sixth realm in this book and it was right at the start as they were leaving. The plot for the book is fantastic. However, the author seems to have forgotten the first and most basic rule of creative writing: SHOW, don't tell. The book is full of pedantic explanations that fail to advance the plot. Characters break into expansive monologues over the smallest of details (for example, a long-winded explanation of flying mounts used for travel vs. mercantile, just because someone saw a mount in the air; no other reason). I found myself skimming through entire chapters of meaningless lectures. The fact that there are still numerous grammatical and spelling errors throughout the book, and the reader knows that if the author had taken less time to lecture on crafting or governance and instead focused on editing, is quite frustrating. Maybe then I would know if a certain character is named Stephan or Stephen, as the two names are used interchangeably.Note to the author: I've been enjoying the series immensely, but with each book I am finding myself less and less invested due to the overwhelmingly amount of explanations needlessly provided. My ratings will unfortunately start to reflect these feelings if they continue. If you really think there is a demand for this information, include an appendix. Or, write a separate compendium that exist in other series (take the Big White Book for The Wheel of Time). As it stands now, I am starting to get an idea on what it would be like to be at a dinner part with TBBT's Sheldon Cooper.
